About This Design: What does the triple moon represent? This is a timeless symbol, used throughout the history of spirituality. It is a representation of the first quarter, full, and last quarter moons. This illustrates to us that there is always a beginning, middle, and end to things, and the cycle always starts anew. While the triple moon symbol origin is lost to us—as is often the case with archaic symbols born anew in the modern era, there have been many, many instances in which it was related to a goddess of some sort. Typically this has been used as a representation of the Divine Feminine, showing us the maiden, mother, and crone.
